Colette Gaiter

Colette Gaiter @ccgaiter is a multimedia artist and writer. She is Professor of Africana Studies and Art & Design at the University of Delaware. In addition to her own visual work, she writes about artists and activism. Her writing on the Black Panther artist Emory Douglas appears in several publications including the monograph Black Panther: The Revolutionary Art of Emory Douglas. In a past life, starting in 1982, she was a pioneer in new media art. Her work, including artist books and digital projects, has been shown in galleries, museums and public institutions in the U.S. and around the world. She is currently working on a book about Emory Douglas’s recent work and activism.
