Introducing ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: The Hyphenated American print portfolio. This is our third in the Black and Brown Hands Making series. Throughout 2025, collective members Colette Fu, Jennifer Graves, Sun Young Kang, Rejin Leys, and Daniel Minter discussed the experiences and histories of hyphenated American identities.

Participating Artists

Colette Fu is a photographer and pop-up paper engineer whose books overlap boundaries between people, the book, installation, photography, craft, and sculpture.

Jennifer Graves is a letterpress printer, book artist, and instructor.

Sun Young Kang is a book and installation artist who uses paper to create physical or metaphorical spaces ranging from large installations to small books.

Rejin Leys is a mixed media artist and papermaker based in New York.

Daniel Minter is an artist exploring displacement and diaspora, ordinary/extraordinary blackness, spirituality in the Afro-Atlantic world, and the (re)creation of meanings of home.
